In cash bookkeeping, the simpler form of bookkeeping, money is only tracked when it enters or leaves the account. In accrual bookkeeping, which is the type that we do, it contains more information about when the money was owned or earned. When smaller companies grow to a certain size, they may transition from cash to accrual bookkeeping. Because we start doing accrual from the beginning it makes any growth stages easier for the company.
